If you see something you like in our gallery and would like to have something similar, yet in a different size or color then a commission would be ideal for you. Dainel will strive to find the exact color match for your room. He recommends for you to send sample colors, fabrics or wallpaper that match your decor for him to work from. You may also want to schedule a home visit or provide photographs of the space(s) where you desire to display your painting, so we can discuss what may work best.

Commissioning an artist to create a modern contemporary painting doesn’t have to mean that you are going to pay a fortune. All prices are calculated on the same basis whether they are for sale in a gallery or unique for you. We always offer free delivery for artwork being shipped to anywhere in the continental United States.

A step-by-step approach to a commission

Initial consultation with the artist to discuss your requirements.

First, we will review all of the artist's current works to define your likes and dislikes of his work before commissioning an original painting. This allows us to get a better feel for what you may want and also establishes the basic size, style and color(s) for the original painting. Next we will ask some questions to establish if you have ever commissioned art before and to define what you expect from the artist. Please be broad or get detailed as you need to be as this will ensure that the work of art is defined to any specifics you want to see or not see. Once we establish you are the sole person approving the painting, you may ask any futher questions that you may have about the process. We will then request photographs of the space, sample color boards, fabrics or wallpaper that may aid us in creation.

Art Commission Contract

After receiving the photographs, color and fabric samples, we will further establish the most appropriate style, type of art and colors that compliment the space in question. From this final call, the artist will draw up and supply a no-obligation quote and project timetable. Upon your acceptance of the quote, a non-refundable deposit of 35% of the final price and a signed contract is required.

Commitment and Communication

Daniel wants you to be completely happy with your modern contemporary painting, so once the artist has started your painting, he will keep you informed every step of the way. You will receive regular emails with progress updates throughout the process and the artist wants your feedback at every stage (recommended). Once the painting has been completed we will email you with a final photograph and form for your approval.

Certificate of Authenticity

At this final stage the balance of payment is required before the painting can be shipped to you. A signed certificate of authenticity is supplied with your painting. The artist finds that the naming of a painting is an important part of the whole process and if you wish to name your own painting, we will include this on the certificate of authenticity. Otherwise, the artist will name the modern contemporary painting for you at your request.
